Spring cottage

In the dead middle of January, I always start craving hints of spring. Everything about this entryway is perfect and romantic - especially the hints of pink and lavender. In this house of boys, I haven't been brave enough to incorporate such feminine colors, but I have a feeling that as spring creeps a little closer, I'll be tempted to give this a try!

Happy monday, you guys. While we're running a little slow this morning and still in our pajamas, this sweet and feminine ensemble makes me think it's probably time to abandon the sweats for something prettier. I love the deep green blazer and cream flat shoes.

And what about that planked wood floor?! Oh my goodness. What a romantic setting!

Bedroom Inspiration

I love this entire room! The hues, the gorgeous white mirror, the contrasting zebra pillow, but most of all that lovely map hanging on the wall! What a neat idea!

Empty frame

Oh, the possibilities of the empty frame! Twine strung across to hang earrings on! Genius!

And what a pretty wall color, too.

Bird garland

Hello there! It's monday afternoon and I've been looking out my bedroom window at naked trees, wishing for warmer days. I love this bird garland and how spring-like it is. Wouldn't it be perfect for a nursery? It looks easy enough to make, but Etsy has many different kinds available. I'd like mine in pure white. What colors would you choose?

PS - Oh, that dress!

Happy weekend

I'm hoping to start back up my 'Thrifty Thursday' posts next week, where I'm hoping to share some fun finds. Which means tomorrow, on my weekend treasure hunt, I'll be searching for something extra sweet.

Have a cozy weekend, you guys.

Pictures in jars

I'm loving the idea of vintage pictures displayed in jars. When I was a freshman in college, I had the opportunity to help move my grandma from her home of fifty years! It was a project that took weeks and weeks (I don't think her or my grandpa ever threw anything away!), and you wouldn't believe some of the things I came across! Some of the most precious items I inherited from that big move were two big scrapbooks with tons of old family pictures. It would, of course, be just as cute filled with recent pictures of you and your family printed in black in white, too. I think I'll be giving it a try here shortly.

And it was all yellow.

The sun is shining today where I live and it's feeling extra beamy for it being January. Hope it's warm where you are.

'One Thing Sweet'

Dear reader:
The idea of this blog came to me back in the summer when I was trudging through the postpartum blues. I was exhausted, emotional and full of ideas. I had joined the world wide crowd and become addicted to pinterest, and felt I needed a more personal place to share the things I was finding rather inspiring.

'One Thing Sweet' is what I named my favorite board on Pinterest. It's where I file away things that move me. That idea has sort of transferred itself here.

This blog will be simple; short posts with pretty pictures, pretty words, good ideas and sweet things for the home. I hope it will flourish into a place you'll come back to again and again, for things that will put a smile on your face and warmth in your heart.

Lets be friends, shall we? See you soon!

Xoxo,
Hollie Rae Keller
